angelspaintings.com is published by Ninefold Press. The shop on it, Angel Oil Paintings by Art & See, is run by Art & See. This policy describes what the site records about a visit, what happens to the details you give when you buy a painting, and what happens to anything you send to editorial@angelspaintings.com. It covers this domain only.

What this site actually does

Angel Oil Paintings is a reference catalogue of paintings. There is no account to open, no profile, no saved collection, no comment thread and no mailing list. The site has no way of knowing who is reading it and does not try to acquire one. Only the checkout asks who you are, when you buy a painting, and what it collects is set out below.

No analytics script and no advertising tag runs on these pages. Nothing profiles a reader by subject, and no advertising network is informed that you spent time looking at cherubs.

Artwork images are loaded from the collections and repositories that hold them, so opening a page reveals your IP address to those hosts, as with any page that carries an image from another domain. Ninefold Press does not control or receive their logs.

When you buy a painting

Buying a painting is the one thing on angelspaintings.com that asks who you are. To make and deliver it we need your name, email address and shipping address, a phone number if you choose to give one, and the details of what you ordered.

Those details are used to fulfil the order: to make the painting, send you the photograph for approval, ship it, and answer questions about it or handle a return. The studio painting your order and the carrier delivering it receive what they need for that, and nothing else.

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are typed into Stripe's secure payment form and go straight to Stripe: they never reach our servers, and we never see your full card number. Stripe handles payment data under its own privacy policy, uses it to process the charge and to detect fraud, and may set cookies on the checkout page for that purpose.

If you pay with a wallet or a pay-later option offered at checkout, the company behind that option receives the details it needs to complete the payment.

How long order records are kept

An order record is kept while the order can still need attention, which includes the 90-day window for returns, and after that for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Server logs

Like any web server, the hosting provider records a line for each request: the IP address it came from, the page asked for, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. Those logs exist so that failures can be diagnosed and abuse can be blocked. They are not used to build a profile, are not combined with anything else, and are not sold or shared.

Hosting and image delivery are provided by third parties acting on our instructions. They process request data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Correction and licensing enquiries

Mail to editorial@angelspaintings.com is read by the editor and kept only while the enquiry is live. A large share of it is commercial: designers, publishers and print sellers asking whether a particular cherub can be reused.

Those messages often describe an unreleased product, a book in preparation or a client. That information is confidential, is not published, and is not passed to anyone. This site does not maintain a marketing list, so an enquiry does not turn into a mailing.

Asking what we hold

There is no account, so what can be held about you is an order you placed or an email you sent. You may ask what that is, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, or ask for it to be deleted. For anything about an order, write to info@art-and-see.com; for anything else, to editorial@angelspaintings.com.

An order record that tax or accounting law requires us to keep is kept for that period and deleted afterwards. Email to the editors is deleted once the question it raised is closed, so in most cases there is nothing left to delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material enough to matter will be described rather than slipped in.
