Hierarchy
A hierarchy of nine ranks that painters reduced to three, and the messengers who cross into the human world.
Hierarchy · 1 of 6
Of the nine ranks, this collection holds one: the archangels, the only choir Western painting dressed, armed and gave a face.
Hierarchy · 2 of 6
The warrior archangel in armour, scales in hand, treading on the dragon he threw out of heaven.
Hierarchy · 3 of 6
The messenger who kneels with a lily and speaks first — the single scene that fixed how an angel should look.
Hierarchy · 4 of 6
The healing archangel walking a boy home with a fish and a dog: the only angel in art with a travel companion.
Hierarchy · 5 of 6
Jacob's ladder and his night of wrestling, Hagar in the desert, the strangers at Abraham's tent, Balaam's blocked road.
Hierarchy · 6 of 6
Lutes, harps and open songbooks: the choir that fills the upper register of an altarpiece.

Our guarantees
Answers from our shipping and returns policies, which apply to every order.
Yes. Every angel painting is painted to order, by hand, in oil on canvas, once your payment is confirmed. Nothing is printed and nothing is waiting on a shelf.
Most paintings take 2 to 3 weeks, complex ones up to 4 weeks and large ones up to 8 weeks. Oil dries in layers, so cold or humid weather can add time, and a painting never ships wet.
Yes. When the painting is finished you receive a photograph of it by email. If something needs adjusting, the artist corrects it, and it ships once you approve the photograph.
Shipping is free to one address anywhere in the world. An unframed painting is rolled in a protective tube; a gallery-wrapped or framed one ships flat. You get a tracking number when it leaves the studio. Import duties, where the destination charges them, are paid by the buyer. Shipping policy
You can cancel within 24 hours of ordering for a full refund. After that, tell us what is wrong: the artist reworks the painting first, and if that is not possible you receive store credit that never expires. Frames are final sale. The returns policy has the details. Returns policy
